How does SwatchFree's AI fabric matching work?
Upload a style image or describe your design and our garment-trained AI identifies the main fabric (the material covering >51% of the piece) and matches it against our library across composition, weight (gsm), weave, hand and drape. You get a ranked shortlist with confidence scores and the reasons behind each match.
What if the AI can't find the fabric I need?
Submit a sourcing request with your tech pack or reference image. Our buyers in Keqiao and Guangzhou go directly to the mills, hunt the closest matches within 24 hours and ship the real swatches to you. Expert sourcing is $6 per matched item plus actual shipping.
Are the physical swatches really shipped worldwide?
Yes. We collect the actual mill swatch cards for every fabric you shortlist. The color cards themselves are free; we charge a flat service fee that includes worldwide express shipping — $69 for up to 5 swatches, $119 for up to 10 swatches.
How are cut samples priced?
Cut samples are 1–10 m, with a $4 service fee per fabric plus shipping at cost. A complimentary color card is included whenever the supplier can provide one. If the mill cannot supply a physical card, we will let you know before cutting.
Why can the service fee be higher than the fabric price?
The work behind every request — matching, collecting swatches, checking availability, packing and shipping — is essentially the same whether the fabric itself is inexpensive or premium. Our fee covers that effort, not the raw fabric cost.
Do I see the real mill / supplier behind each fabric?
Every swatch card discloses the mill origin, composition, gsm and width. You can connect with the supplier directly, see honest bulk quotes and hold your OEM factory to transparent, market-true costs.
Can SwatchFree handle purchasing and QC for me?
Yes. We accept managed sourcing briefs, purchase on your behalf, and run 4-point fabric inspection plus AATCC lab testing. A full QC report is attached to every shipment.
Do you offer a monthly sourcing plan?
Yes. If your brand has many styles each month, our sourcing experts can work as your remote team. Plans start at $299/month for up to 60 styles, with long-term support for your design and production calendar.
Who is SwatchFree built for?
